Red Tail Run Round-Up  

The 2017 Red Tail Run event for Ohio Wildlife Center welcomed 186 runners October 1 at the Cook Road Education Center and raised $11,175 for wildlife. The 4th annual 5K Run & Walk through Shawnee Hills featured family and team groups and wrapped up with the release of a rehabilitated Red-Tailed Hawk near the Bonner Barn and pond.  This year also featured the addition of teams from Individual Fitness Solutions and The Winchester Institute who provided free stretching, taping, and massages for runners prior to and after the race.
Prizes and recognition were awarded to the top male and female runners in age groups from youth to adult. Winners who received medals were:
Overall Female Runners: 1st place: Kinkaid Carstensen; 2nd place: Laura Mastella
Overall Male Runners: 1st place: Aidan Groves; 2nd place: Rushil Madan
Runners age 10 and under: Maddison Vick; Kassra Shavezipur
Age 11 – 19 – Isabella Palazzo; Neal Butcher
Age 20 – 29 – Rebecca Calvin; Aaron Bandy
Age 30 – 39 – Abigail Picotte; Ryan Kennedy
Age 40 – 49 – Julie Heck; Scott Lilly
Age 50 – 59 – Jennifer Pick; Perry Peters
Age 60 + – Zita Hunt; Rodney Tyson
