On-Site Programs

Ohio Wildlife Center offers a variety of on-site educational programming for groups, classes or organizations of all ages interested in getting the full on-site experience at Ohio Wildlife Center!

Summer Programs Note

We are unable to book any onsite groups on weekdays between 9am-5pm

due to our summer camp that runs from June 3rd- August 2nd.

What You Can Expect

In addition to a tailored education program, participants receive a guided tour of our facility and a chance to meet our resident animal ambassadors. These visits should be scheduled at least two weeks in advance using the form below for most availability. You can see and experience more wild adventures when you travel to the Center.

Wildlife Encounter and Tour

  • Program Length: Up to 1 hour
  • Group Size: 35 Max
  • Program Fee: *total guests includes both children AND any adults
    • 1-20 total guests: $150
    • 21-35 total guests: $200
  • Chaperones: ages 5 and under, 1:10 ratio | ages 5-7, 1:15 ratio | ages 7 and up, 1:30 ratio*

Spend the first half hour meeting three to four of our wild animal ambassadors in an up-close presentation. The second half of this program is spent outdoors on a short walk to meet our ambassadors that live in permanent outdoor habitats. These include our resident coyotes, bald eagle, raccoons, red fox and raptors. Your group will learn about Ohio Wildlife Center, the natural history of Ohio’s native wildlife, coexisting with wildlife, and the inspirational stories of our animal residents.

Scout Troop Program

  • Program Length: 60-90 minutes
  • Can be scheduled to start at 5pm or earlier on weekday evenings
  • Group Size: 35 Max
  • Program Fee: *total guests includes both children AND any adults
    • 1-20 total guests: $170
    • 21-35 total guests: $200
    • *Any Scout Programs scheduled after 5p will incur a $50 after-hours staffing fee*
  • Chaperones: ages 5 and under, 1:10 ratio | ages 5-7, 1:15 ratio | ages 7 and up, 1:30 ratio*

Our knowledgeable educators, live animals and the many unique resources at Ohio Wildlife Center combine to make earning a badge for both girl and boy scouts fun and educational. Spend the first portion hiking part of our property, stopping to visit some animal ambassadors, such as raccoons, red fox and raptors, along the way. Spend the portion meeting three to four of our wild Animal Ambassadors in an up-close presentation. Your group will learn about Ohio Wildlife Center, the natural history of Ohio’s native wildlife, coexisting with wildlife, and the inspirational stories of our animal residents. In order to make it more cost effective, we do allow multiple troops to participate in the same program. 

School Field Trip Program

  • Program Length: 1.5 hours
  • Group Size: 20 Minimum to 100 Maximum
  • Program Fee: *total guests includes both children AND any adults 
    • 20-35 total guests: $250
    • 36-50 total guests: $300
    • 51-65 total guests: $350
    • 66-80 total guests: $400
    • 81-100 total guests: $450
  • Chaperones: ages 5 and under, 1:10 ratio | ages 5-7, 1:15 ratio | ages 7 and up, 1:30 ratio*

Students will participate in three approximately 30-minute activity rotations to learn about the seasonal adaptations of Ohio’s wildlife. This includes an up- close Wildlife Encounter, a tour of our property, and a short lesson. Your students will meet a variety of native Ohio wildlife, including our resident coyote, raccoons, red fox and bald eagle.

Enrichment Excitement 

$100 (add 30 minutes)

Your group will stuff our raccoons’ diet (dog food and produce) into cardboard boxes, tubes, and newspaper. We will then walk to their enclosure and a staff member will give them to the raccoons to rip up and enjoy!

Additional Animal Ambassador Encounter 

$50 (add 15 minutes)

Add a *special* animal ambassador to your program (red-tailed hawk, turkey vulture, screech owl, or raccoon).

Animal Art Demonstration & Painting

$50 (add 15 minutes)

Watch creativity unfold as one of our turtle ambassadors creates a unique piece of art. We use non-toxic paint and let the animals crawl/walk across the canvas. You get to take the original piece of art home with you.

Take a Hike!

$100 (add 30 minutes)

Immerse yourself in nature and learn about the secrets our forests hold with a hike through our woods. Trail is a mulched path with a couple big hills, please dress accordingly!

  1. We recommend booking programs at least four weeks in advance.
  2. Form submission does not guarantee a program reservation.
  3. Once submitted, please allow up to three business days for our education team to contact you.
  4. Full payment is required two weeks before your event.
  5. Programs booked outside of normal hours (Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m.-2 p.m.) are charged an additional $50 staffing fee. Scout Programs are an exception, see Scout Program description above for after-hours fees.
