What is White-Nose Syndrome?

Have you read about White-Nose Syndrome affecting bats across Ohio and the eastern U.S.?  The disease is of major concern as these animals play an extremely important role in the health of our ecosystem.  Ohio Wildlife Center is assisting the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Wildlife in conducting biosurveys on local populations.

**Special Note**  As of November 2012, all non-endangered bats admitted to Ohio Wildlife Center’s Hospital between the time-frames of November 15th and April 1st  must be euthanized upon arrival and submitted to the Division of Wildlife for White-Nose Syndrome testing.  Bats admitted outside of these time-frames may be rehabilitated.
