Since its founding in 1984 the Ohio Wildlife Center has:   Treated over 50,000 injured or orphaned wildlife,  Provided educational experiences to 950,000 children and adults,  Responded to over 550,000 wildlife hotline calls. This has all been made possible by the donation of 500,000 hours of dedicated volunteer work.

WHERE: OWC outdoor nature education center in Powell, Ohio
WHAT: Fun-filled, action-packed weeks at a working wildlife center. Campers take a hands-on role in learning about Ohio's native wildlife, including the care and husbandry of our resident animals, hikes, biosurveys, nest box monitoring and other nature conservation activities.

Campers ages 4-6:

Owlets Pre-School Day Camp (1/2 days)

Session 1A:July 14-16, 9-Noon , (AM Session) 4 –6 year olds  (FULL)

Session 1B: July 14-16, 1:30-4:30 ,  (PM Session)4 –6 year olds  

Session 2A: Aug 11- Aug 13,  9-Noon, (AM Session)4 - 6 year olds

Session 2B:  Aug 11- Aug 13, 1:30-4:30, (PM Session) 4 – 6 year olds    

Pre-School Program Fees: $75/week members, $85/week non-members

Owlets Pre-Schoolers enjoy 3 half days of hands-on immersion in nature through hikes, games, stories and the opportunity to learn how to feed and care for the resident wild animals at OWC, such as small turtles, squirrels, birds, opossums and rabbits. 15 children in each session will be led through the activities by 3 Pre-School teachers and wildlife day camp counselors in activities that introduce them to up-close encounters with nature in woodland, aquatic and meadow habitats on our 20 acre facility. A nutritious snack is provided each day.

Session 2: June 23-June 27, 7 - 12 year olds  

Session 3:  July 7- July 11, 7 - 12 year olds (FULL)

Session 4:  July 21 – July 25, 7-12 year olds

Session 4:  July 28-Aug 1,  7-12 year olds   

Session 5:  Aug 4- Aug 8,  7-12 year olds   

Wildlife Encounters!  Program Fees:  $250/week members, $275 non-members

Camp Hours : 9am – 3pm Monday-Thursday and 9am-Noon on Friday

Join us for a week of camp at our Working Wildlife Center! Go on hikes, study wild animals and their behavior, learn how to handle, care and feed some of Ohio's native animal species and learn ways we can help our wild neighbors! Meet hawks, owls, coyotes opossums, turtles and snakes up close and learn more about the amazing ecosystems right in our own backyards!

SOARS WildWings Teen Camp/Overnight  *****New Program!*****

1 Session:  Jun 30- July 2, 13-17 year olds  (Space is limited!)

Program Fee: $150 (includes 3 meals)

Camp Hours : 9am- 4p Monday, 9am Tuesday to 4pm Wednesday

SOARS Wildwings Camp will explore wildlife rehabilitation from a naturalist/educator approach in an intensive 3-day format.  Campers will learn the basic biology and behaviors of various Ohio species as well as interpretive techniques for teaching others how to live peacefully with backyard wildlife. They will learn preventative methods to reduce human impact and ways to help injured, orphaned and displaced wildlife.  Our Tuesday night camp-over will give us opportunities to explore the night time activities of wild residents.
